Over deze activiteit
After meeting your tour guide in Trogir, Split promenade or at your hotel, you'll begin our day tour with a comfortable air conditioned coach drive to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Enjoy your drive while your tour guide will provide you with interesting information about the places you will visit on the tour.
On your way to the ancient Ottoman city of Mostar, after 1h and 45 min drive, you will stop for a coffee break at the walled town of Počitelj - UNESCO World Heritage site. There your tour guide will introduce you with the history of this area. Then your tour continues to Mostar, only half an hour away. In Mostar your local tour guide introduces us to the great history of this city known as 'the window to the Orient'. On a one hour guided tour you'll visit the Old Bazaar, full of picturesque shops and craft workshops, and the Mosque. After this, you'll enjoy a walk along the famous Turkish bridge from the 16thC and you'll have 2,5 hrs of free time for exciting shopping and the opportunity to taste authentic Bosnian specialties like cevapi, pita or burek.
Then it's off for a half an hour drive to experience the beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina on your final destination, one of the most-visited pilgrimage centers in all of Europe - Medjugorje. For believers and those who are looking for spiritual renewal, the most compelling site here is the Mount of Appearance where Virgin Mary is reported to have appeared to children in 1981 for the first time. Your tour guide will help you understand and appreciate why this place of peace and compassion has become such a world-wide destination for pilgrims. You will be able to explore this spiritual place during your 2 hrs of free time. As an option, you may also enjoy some wonderful swimming in nearby Kravice waterfalls.
After this beautiful experience you return to Split or Trogir where your tour finishes on the original departure point.

We loved every aspect of this tour. Mostar is a beautiful town and rich in history. Our tour guide Igor was fabulous, he made our day extremely educational and fun. He was extremely knowledgeable but also made the information he passed on exciting. We also did the Kravice Waterfalls which was fabulous and a wonderful combination for the full day. Definitely would recommend this tour absolutely wonderful
Amazing places!! Teho and Egor where amazing guides!!! Teho is the coach driver who is very entertaining and a brilliant driver! Egor is the guide who is very knowledgeable and helpful, he also is very entertaining!! Mostar is a stunning place, especially the new old bridge, but is also a sad reminder of the Bosnian conflict where many lost there lives!!! Medjugorje is also a beautiful place, it has The Apparition Hill which is a long climb up, seeing stone stations of the cross- definitely need sturdy footwear and get a taxi to the hill, as it is quite far too walk to!! If you wish to see the Blue cross ask the taxi driver to drop you there as this is further on, and more suitable for people who cannot climb apparition hill!! Both are definitely worth a visit!! Truly amazing
Very interesting trip to Mostar. Andreja was an excellent guide Lots of information about Bosnia and Herzegovina. We had an excellent Muslim guide in Mostar. We chose to spend our one hour and a half hours at Kravice waterfalls rather than Medjugorje. An excellent place sat and drank local beer and wine beneath the falls.
The highlights of Mostar were very amazing and a great experience. But it could have been covered in a much shorter time--it was pretty obvious that a goal was to get you to shop in the very crowded street bazaar area. Viator needs to do a better job letting people know how treacherous the climb up to the site of the Virgin Mary is--it was more than difficult and walking almost straight up on jagged rocks was dangerous. Unlike other tour groups, our guide did not stay with us. We were dropped off at a spot where we had to take a cab to the bottom of the hill and back again after. Cost--5 euros each way. So while definitely an experience, both spots could have been done better.
This was an amazing trip! Tito and Silvio were awesome!! Isla the Bosnian tour guide was wonderful and very informative Just didn’t have enough time in each of the places!!! Definitely need stable footwear!! As medjugorje is very steep and not very clear on where to walk!!!! Am going to have to do the trip again to benefit from these places!!! Good value for money! But would be better if had more time at each place!!
I was glad I took this segway trip from Split to Mostar! Mostar is at its hottest at the time, but I couldn’t really complain as my eyes feasted on the culture-rich heritage of Mostar and sparkling green yet clear waters of the Kravice Falls. I’d definitely recommend this tour by Portal tours. Diho, the bus driver, was very accommodating and fun. Despite the extreme hot weather, he made all his passengers chill out in the bus with this humorous personality. Igor, the tour guide was also very knowledgeable of a lot of things. I have learned A LOT, not just about Bosnia and Herzegovina but also about the history of the Balkan region in general. I was super thankful that I ended my Balkan trip with this tour. It was like an enriching closing ceremony.
Was a very hot day and the guided tour around Mostar was cut short . The tour guide in Mostar rehashed the information we heard on the bus so nothing new was told. Not much information was provided regarding Medjugorje and the pick up spot was changed due to an event. Not the fault of the operator but this could have been considered as an hour was spent waiting and the poor bus driver had to walk to the original spot and guide us to where the bus was parked over a kilometre away. There was no rest breaks coming back from Bosnia to Split which would of been ideal, however the tour was way behind schedule and we arrived back in town at 10pm. The tour guide Nikolina provided a lot of information going up and the time spent in Mostar and Medjugorje was good.
First thing to say is that if I was reviewing the tour guide and driver alone they would get 5/5. They were great. Very professional, polite and informative. Our main criticism was the tour guide in Mostar. He ran over the tour massively. It was supposed to be an hour long. It got to 1 hr 20 and we both decided to walk off otherwise we would have had hardly any time to get lunch and look round properly. Even with this we felt extremely rushed. We really wish the tour would have ended on time or that it was optional as we'd have preferred more time to look around independently. We weren't the only people that left the tour early - several people walked off. I have no idea what time it actually finished. Only about half of what the guide was saying was actually interesting. A lot of us looked really bored. The small stop off on the way to Mostar in a little village felt a bit pointless and I feel that extra time would have been better spent in Mostar. We chose to stop at the waterfalls which was fantastic. We had brought swimming clothing with the plan to swim but the water is very cold so we didn't. I read a review on here about currency and saying everywhere accepts Kuna. They do but try and have a lot of change because we had to leave a lot of places as they didn't have appropriate change. Remember to turn your phone data off also! We totally forgot we were crossing into a non-EU country so the charges were different. My phone does it automatically but my partners doesn't. We left at 7:30 and got back at about 19:40 which was punctual considering we are held back at points of the tour (other tourists not coming back to the meeting point on time). I'd recommend the day trip and I'd just hope you get a good and punctual tour guide!
Our driver, Andreas was excellent and so was the local guide, Selmir. Mostar is a terrible place to be if it is raining. The cobbles are very slick, uneven and hilly. People can and did fall. On a sunny day, Mostar is a great place filled with interesting history. We had a lovely lunch along the river and enjoyed the warm Bosnian hospitality. I feel bad giving the trip one star, because it was the fault of the weather, not the trip planners. My fear of falling, especially as I had had a fall in the last year that resulted in a broken leg, so that explains my negative reaction to the slick cobblestones. Medjugorje was a bust. it was like Disneyland for Catholics. Antiseptic and filled with shopping opportunities. Nothing felt holy or like you were in a special place. There was an uninspiring church and a town filled with Catholic souvenir shops. It was incredibly tacky. The walk up to the Blue Cross was arduous and not for anyone who is not in good shape or has a fear of falling. Again, this negativity is partly due to my personal medical history. I was also uncomfortable with some of the more extreme devotional activities of some of the pilgrims. There were some very strange behaviors.
I visited on September 13, 2018 on the 7:30am excursion. This is a five-star trip to take, despite two small issues. One issue -- I was very unsure during the initial pick-up. I opted for the Hotel Park location and so many buses, taxis, vans etc. pass through going to similar destinations, that I didn't know if I was getting on the right one or not. Luckily I did, because the tour guide on the actual bus down by the port, Silvio, was fantastic. He was very knowledgable about Bosnia and Herzegovina and willing to answer any and all questions. The walking tour guide in Mostar was also awesome. She knew literally everything there was to know about the town. Mostar itself (Počitelj as well) is beautiful. Markets, beautiful architecture, people and food as far as the eye could see. Which leads me to issue number two, which is that there just wasn't enough time to properly explore Mostar. Realistically, to explore the town and outskirts, two hours isn't really enough, when you factor in a sit-down meal. I did still see a ton of sites, so not too big of a complaint. The trip to Kravice waterfalls was excellent. Swimming in the gorgeous, refreshing water there was quite the experience. It was pretty packed, but there was no issue finding space to chill. The ride there and back went very smoothly (the bus driver was a real pro on the mountains we drove over). All in all, I highly recommend this trip, but if you really want to explore Mostar, you may need a full day.
Igor and Tiho were absolutely amazing. They made the trip vastly more interesting...we laughed...we had a great time.
This tour was amazing!
Tour was very good. The guide Egor (I think) was very professional and informative, with perfect English. This trip is definitely worth doing and is value for money for all that you see.
Be prepared to spend a lot of time at the border crossings both back and forth 30 to 45 minutes for smaller buses and over an hour for large buses.Mostar was very different , in terms of culture and people but was very crowded even though it was off season . The bridge is a highlight and we saw two tourist jump off it . Visit to the Turkish house wasn t really neede as we had little time todhop after a great lunch. We did the sacred site instead of the falls and were underwhelmed by it unless you have a strong religous reason to go there. .Another trip with a lot of riding time
Niki was an amazing tour guide. Probably one of the best I've ever experienced. She was full of energy and information. It was well worth the excursion from Split.
