Over deze activiteit
Meet a driver at your hotel or cruise ship in Puerto Vallarta, then begin the trip to San Sebastian del Oeste, an important mining town full of tranquility and charm.

Make the first stop of the day at a tequila distillery in the village, where you can learn the process of making tequila, and taste a range of flavors. Next, visit the oldest organic coffee factory in the area, La Quinta Mary, then sample coffee blends made with beans from a local plantation.

Set out on foot through the picturesque center of town, passing former haciendas and houses with red-tiled roofs. Visit the Church of San Sebastian, the main square, the town hall, the museum, and the local silversmith shop, with a pause to tour the village bakery.

.

Make the final stop of the day at a local restaurant, Lupita, where you'll enjoy a well-earned buffet lunch of traditional foods. This 6-hour tour concludes with return transfer to Puerto Vallarta, and drop-off at your original departure point.

My husband and I wanted to see some of the country outside of Puerto Viarta and this trip fit the bill. Once all of the people on this tour were picked up we headed up into the mountains for a wonderful day of tasting tacos and bakery items to tequila and a wonderful lunch at the charming town os San Sebastian. This is the type of tour for those wanting to get a literal "taste" of the area and see some countryside and learn a bit about the history of the area. Our tour guide was Tomas, and he made the trip for us. He was friendly and kind, as well as knowledgeable about the history, flora and fauna of the area. Getting picked up and dropped back at your hotel was a real plus as this is a very full day. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see more of what is available in the Puerto Vallarta area. Deb and Ike

This was a charming quaint town. I was surprised that there was nothing to buy there. I was hoping to see some home made items. The drive was long, the tour guides were very pleasant.

The tour was very good and interesting. Just one minor detail and that is I think we don't need to stop for watermelon. Tour guide Jorge was very knowledgeable.

It took a while to find the van to pick us up when we disembarked from our cruise ship, but a little patience paid off. Then we were off on some paved and some dirt roads some distance from Puerto Vallarta. Along the way, our guide gave us an exhaustive but not exhausting history of the origins of the native Indians both in North and South Americas. Some of it appeared to be apocryphal, but it was interesting. Then we descended upon a small tequila distillery that provided us with a lesson on making tequila from the blue agave as well as tequila tastings. We were surprised that so many great-tasting tequilas are made from combinations of tequila with chocolate and other ingredients. My wife, Denise, was so taken with them that we bought our full duty-free liquor allotment right there. With clinking bottles in hand, we headed for San Sebastian del Oeste, a historically important mining town that reached its zenith long ago, when gold and silver were available from the mines. Today, it is a sleepy but pleasant small town that gives you the flavor of the non-touristy parts of Mexico. We had lunch at a nice restaurant that more than satisfied our hunger pangs. The tour of the city included some vaguely historical sites, but most prominently the San Sebastian church and the central square. The drive back was uneventful except for numerous delays because of road construction. Had we been staying at a hotel in Puerto Vallarta this would not have been important. Instead, however, we were on the Norwegian Jewel cruise ship. At 5:15 p.m. we were still entering Puerto Vallarta. The ship's gangways closed at 5:30 p.m. Adrenalin started flowing quickly. What do you do when you miss your ship? Wave goodbye? Well, fortunately, we did not have to find out as we made it to the ship only two minutes late. Perhaps the Captain saw us racing for the gangway. Perhaps not. But no sooner had we boarded than the ship started unmooring and heading off into the sunset. It made for some fine story telling aboard the ship, but this level of excitement was not what we had planned. All in all, however, it was a very pleasant day.
