Our guide not only spoke in two languages, she meticulously went through all of the details at every stop. After the bus tour, we proceeded with a 3 hour walking tour of Prague. Highly recommended.
Our guide was Sophia and we were fortunate to be in a small group tour which allowed for lots of questions and in-depth answers. The tour was a combination of air-conditioned coach and walking. We drove through much of the old and new city and heard stories about the building origins and the Czech experience. The walking part of the tour began at the Prague Palace which is actually a huge palace complex. Our tickets did not include entry into the buildings but did allow us to see many of the larger palaces and learn about the history of the families. We walked down from the Palace with great river and city views. We crossed the Charles bridge and learned about the statues lining either side, some old, some reproductions. Ending in front of the Astronomical Clock with an explanation of the workings of same was fun especially since it was 1:00 and all the parts started moving! It was a good way to learn about this magical city.
this was a partial coach, partial walking tour. the first part, in the coach, seemed to be kind of rushed through. i'm not sure if i missed anything or not. the second part, though, the walking tour around the castle and back in to town was very well done, with an affable Peter? and knowledgeable guide.
Not recommended. We were only in Prague for two days and were looking to maximize our time, so we booked this tour figuring we would get to see and learn a lot. However, when we got on the bus of Prague Sightseeing they started speaking half in English and half in Spanish. Our ticket AND Viator receipt says "Tour Language: English". I would have never booked a bilingual tour with this limited amount of time and thought I was purchasing the full amount of time in English.. Anyway, we and the other passangers that thought they were on the an "English" tour tried to talk to the Guide who was very, very rude to our party and the other passangers who were misled as to what this tour was. We asked what happened because, as I said, all our information, says "English tour". I figured there was a miscommunication and we were on the wrong bus. However, both Prague Sightseeing and Viator said the website doesn't say " English ONLY" tour and that other languages can be spoken. I feel misled and after wasting our time getting to the tour and discussing with Viator we got a response saying "While we understand your disappointment, please understand that they operate the tour in English however it may be operated by a multi-lingual guide as well.“. Which also misrepresents the real situation....its not that our guide is multi-lingual (that's great!), it is that the tour is done in multiple languages. In fact this company does not offer an English only tour at all. I truly believe they need to update the description of what you are buying on this website and brochure. For example. If I bought a black sweater online and I got sent a yellow and black sweater instead, I would return it for being wrong. I would not expect the company to justify the order saying that the description didn't say 'black ONLY" and "did mention that there were other colors available".
if you first time to prague like it was for us, this is a must for your first day, you on a minibus for an hour and then 2 hours walking, bring a drink with you and not much time for toilet trips, you do and see so much it is worth doing it as it helps you for the next few days when looking on your own
A very good tour. Very informative with a good mix of walking and resting as well as time to take pictures. The short trip around the old town by vehicle before the walk began was a bonus. Recommended tour.
This trip was a complete waste of money. Start time 2:45, till 3:20 we were circling around between old town and Nameste Repuliky our initial meeting point, so they can get more people for the tour. The Guide was really really bad, As one other tourist mentioned, they were trying to combine a French speaking guide with an English speaking and none worked. He just pointed us to places, which we can do via a Rick Steve's guide and would get more out of it. The final destination at the Palace, we lost a couple of tourists and we wasted time waiting for them for about 15 mins, then walked down. We even told the Guide he was not providing us any information except point to locations and he was not helpful. DO NOT WASTE MONEY on this tour. It was run by local Prague Sight Seeing Tours company, so dont bother.
Our guide Eva was terrific and provided excellent historical info the entire time!
This tour has potential....but it all starts with the tour guide. This was our first trip ever that we experienced two terrible Viator tours, and we really believe it was the terrible guide in both places. Budapest too It was our first time in Prague, and after an incredible river cruise with incredible tour guides we had this tour. First, she had to repeat everything in German due to the one German tourist. The 4 remaining tourists all thought they booked an English speaking tour. She raced through information as she had to repeat in German. She would then just stop talking and provide no information. When she was speaking in English, she was so unenthusiastic about Prague, hardly a representative for excited tourists. Up at the palace area, she suggested we stop for a coffee. When we did, she asked if we had any questions about Prague in general. We asked if there was a place she could suggest that we buy tickets for live music that night. She rudely responded I dont know. I am not aware of anything going on. I responded there is a music hall right across from where she picked us up. I also asked why they promote they are a city of music if she says there is nothing going on. Just a blank stare in return.... By the way, we found an entire office that has tickets for music concerts all over the city. WE had a choice of 6 events to choose from for concerts that night. On our way to the clock Tower, she then dragged us into a gift shop. Only the one German tourist was interested in shopping suddenly, and she was helping him shop for a ring. She was pushing him to buy the necklace too, very aggressive and clearly gets a kick back. After 20 minutes in a small store we were all showing our frustration. Even the tourist shopping said he felt it was overpriced and would wait, she poorly hid her anger over us not buying anything. We felt sorry for the German tourist as after he decided not to purchase she basically just walked alone and left him alone the rest of the tour. Shocking to witness... Poor information provided. We learned more from friends at a cafe about the famous clock tower that had just finished a professional tour. The only time she cracked a smile was at the end when she wanted a tip. Waste of time and money... the worst tour ever.
