Het privévoertuig haalt u op bij uw hotel in Chengdu en neemt u mee op een twee uur durende rit naar de Grote Boeddha van Leshan. Bij aankomst in Leshan geniet u van een heerlijke Chinese lunch in een populair lokaal restaurant. Daarna gaat u met uw gids naar de tempel van de Grote Boeddha (Lingyun-tempel), achter het hoofd van de Grote Boeddha. Bewonder de uitgewerkte constructie van het haar, die bestaat uit ongeveer 1020 gedraaide knotten. Loop naar binnen en bewonder de complexe sculpturen en de muren van de tempel.
Daarna volgt u uw gids over het pad naar de linkerkant van de Grote Boeddha. Deze wandeling duurt ongeveer 30 minuten, maar is flexibel en afhankelijk van de pauzes of fotomomenten. Het beeldhouwwerk is maar liefst 71 meter hoog en 28 meter breed, en is verreweg het grootste Boeddhabeeld ter wereld! Bewonder de grootsheid van dit bouwwerk dat boven u uittorent.
Uw gids begeleidt u vervolgens op een andere wandeling van 30 minuten over het pad aan de rechterkant van de boeddha, dat naar een andere tempel leidt. Loop de Wuyou-tempel in, een roze gebouw met een overvloed aan kalligrafische tekeningen, beelden van terracotta en verschillende andere Boeddhistische artefacten. Volg uw gids naar de Arhat-hal waar u meer dan 500 Arhat-standbeelden ziet. Buiten de tempel hebt u een schitterend uitzicht op de Boeddha, de omliggende bossen en de rivieren Min, Qingyi en Dadu die hier samenkomen.
Voor een alternatief uitzicht op de Grote Boeddha kunt u een boottocht maken over de rivier (op eigen kosten). Na een volle dag bij dit beeld dat op de Werelderfgoed staat, kunt u heerlijk ontspannen terwijl privévervoer u terug naar uw hotel in Chengdu brengt.

This was an absolutely wonderful tour. My guide Worli was lovely. Very well informed. Spoke great english and was very accommodating to all my requests. What I loved about this tour was everything was included and more. Worli had so much knowledge on not only Leshan Buddha but all topics relating to Chinese culture. We also enjoyed a great lunch, where Worli helped me choose the best vegetarian dished one can find in China! highly recommend this tour and all other tours by this company,

Amazing journey. The Leshan Giant Buddha is absolutely stunning. One of the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Our guide, Audrey, was extremely charming and professional, giving us great information about this gigantic piece of art.

Firstly our guide 'Coral' was excellent, very friendly, spoke good English and the driver was first class especially with the traffic and 'non existent rules of the road it would appear'. The journey to Lesham takes about 2 hours and Coral gave us an excellent commentary during this journey. Unfortunately the weather was dreadful, luckily had umbrella with us. On arrival the crowds were everywhere, good job did not arrive in height of season. Throughout the visit to the Buddha, Coral gave a good history and explanation and we had a laugh. The wait to walk down the Buddha and up again was around 2 hours so we declined due to the weather conditions but Coral made up for this with her commentary. The lunch was superb. One observation perhaps to improve this visit is to climb up and be given the commentary and visit the temples then proceed to the 'boat option' rather than waiting up to 2 hours to fully view the statue then followed by the lunch, that way everybody would see everything. The return journey to the hotel took again another 2 hours so a very full day.
